Facade Design & Engineering
Riba Stage 5 (Manufacturing & Construction); in the context of façades involves the execution of the façade design, ensuring it aligns with approved drawings and specifications. This stage includes procurement, fabrication, delivery, and installation of façade components such as cladding, curtain walling, and insulation. Quality control, compliance with building regulations, and coordination with other trades are critical to achieving the intended aesthetic and performance. On-site inspections, testing, and resolving installation challenges are essential to ensure durability, weather resistance, and thermal efficiency of the façade system.
We provide complete package of services covering Stage 5 streamlining the process for architects, investors, and contractors.
Our workflow generally as follows:
Panel layout design:
General arrangement drawings, plan, elevation, section.
Detail design:
Standard details where required, such as, window jambs - reveals - cill, movement joint, corner detail.
Sub-grid design:
Using helping hand brackets or Omega/Zed rails, or any other project specific bespoke substrates, including implementing fire strategy drawings.
Material Schedules:
Scheduling any component used during the design, including any flashings, fixings, fixing system compontents.
Fabrication Drawings:
Cladding material fabrication drawings.
Optional services:
Structural Calculations:
Wind load and dead load analysis.
As-Built Drawings:
Integrating as-built information provided by the contractor to produce the final handover documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
3D Design:
Depending on the customer’s request we can provide all of the services above in 3D.
On-Site Support:
Reviewing and providing guidance on site to the installers.
Additional Services:
RIBA Stage 1-4 Facade Design & Engineering Consultancy:
While our core expertise lies in RIBA Stage 5, involving us early in the design development process (Stages 3-4) can significantly benefit the project. Our proactive approach allows us to foresee potential façade challenges before they arise, ensuring seamless project delivery. By addressing design, engineering, and constructability issues in advance, we help mitigate risks, optimise costs, and enhance overall efficiency, leading to a smoother transition into the construction phase.

Facade & Cladding Estimating
We offer a comprehensive range of estimating services suitable for both cladding remediation and new build projects. Our approach is categorized into two distinct parts:
Part One involves processing any information received to produce a detailed list of services. This stage generally handles non-confidential information and includes the processing of technical details to generate Bills of Quantities (BoQs), markup drawings, and quantities take-offs.
Part Two encompasses all the services provided in Level One, with the addition of a thorough review of all project documentation, such as employer requirements and Fire Risk Assessment and Emergency Works (FRAEW). In this level, we can contact with third parties to obtain quotations, offer value engineering services, and participate in mid and final tender settlement meetings on behalf of yourself.
Part 1:
Drawings Review:
We review all drawings received and understand which materials are needed to deliver the project.
Quantities Take-off:
Fully traceable Bluebeam quantities take-off including all of main and secondary materials related to facades & cladding, and ancillary items as well.
BoQ/CSA writing:
Project specific bill of quantities writing, outlining all the works and materials including enabling works needed to deliver the project.
Mark-up Drawings:
Mark-up drawings showcasing materials on elvations - plans - sections.
Part 2:
Everything in Part 1 +
Document Review:
Reviewing all documents including ITTs, Employer’s requirements, FRAEWs, and any other documents included in tender pack.
Quotations:
Obtaining quotations either from your contacts, or getting quotations from trustworthy sector leading companies on behalf of yourself.
Value Engineering:
Preparing line-ups from the obtained quotations and comparing them like by like to settle on best quotation. Recommendations of Equal and Approved materials.
Quality Tenders:
Providing input data for the quality questions from the documents reviewed.
Meetings:
Attending catch-up meetings, mid/final tendere settlement meetings, hand over meeting.
